crown of life blog

In writing these entries, my intent is address many common ideas or doctrines and provide my perspective on these topics. I intend to provide scriptural references to illustrate the views I adhere to or to refute popularly held beliefs that I oppose. I understand that many in our church and those who may join in the future might not agree with all of these beliefs or interpretations. Still, we can have a respectful dialogue built upon the foundation of Christ, the Gospel message, and the authority of scripture. I love you all and would desire to protect you from false doctrine, lead you to read the scripture, and guide you to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

I believe, as scripture states, we should study to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15). Scripture commands us always to be ready to explain the basis for our hope in Christ's salvation, doing so with gentleness and respect, as noted in 1 Peter 3:15.

My hope and prayer is not that you would always agree with me on every subject, but that through reading the scripture for yourself, the Spirit of Truth would enlighten you. I wouldn’t want anyone to agree with me or any man on any matter concerning their salvation or the truth of the scriptures that they have not read in the Bible, and that the Holy Spirit has not enabled them to understand. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17). He will guide you into all truth (1 John 2:27). Always test the spirits (1 John 4:1) and hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

God bless you, and I love you with the love of Christ.
